Image Blur

Last updated: October 5, 2026

Summary

Image Blur does not sell your data. It does not send your browsing activity or page content to the developer or to third-party analytics services.

Information we do not collect

  • Personal information (name, email, account details)
  • Browsing history or lists of sites you visit
  • Page text, images, or other site content
  • Payment or financial information

Information stored on your device

The extension saves your settings (for example: on/off mode, blur strength, opacity, and reveal-on-hover) using Chrome’s storage API. If you use Chrome sync and are signed in, those settings may sync across your devices through Google’s sync service, under Google’s privacy policy.

All blur and fade effects run locally in your browser on pages you open. The extension changes how images are displayed on the page; it does not upload that content elsewhere.

Permissions

  • Host access (websites) Required to apply blur or fade to images on pages you visit. Used only for display changes on your device.
  • Storage Saves your extension preferences.
  • Tabs Used only to open this extension’s help page in a new tab when you choose Help from the popup.
  • Active tab Used when you open the extension from the toolbar or use keyboard commands related to the extension.

Third parties

Image Blur does not include third-party advertising or tracking. The Chrome Web Store is operated by Google; downloading or updating the extension is subject to Google’s terms and policies.

Children

The extension is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

This policy may be updated if the extension changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will be revised when that happens.
